Review of CloverETL in our research report (PARTIAL results)
- Basic functionality
- Future prospects
"The new release of CloverETL has added so much functionality that it would qualify for inclusion as a Pure ETL product, however it still has a very limited user base and as such still fits better into the Niche category, although for companies looking for a very reasonably priced alternative to the major products this would certainly be a good place to start." Information from the vendor
A relative newcomer
Certainly one of the best of the niche products we have seen, if there were more customers using the product we would reclassify it as a Pure ETL tool. As a relative newcomer in this market they publish their pricing on the website – certainly a “value for money” solution.
How easy is the product to use?
Visual editor even for complex processes and workflows. Usability is one of the main reasons why customers buy our software. We offer classroom training, but self-trained works well too.
Still room for improvement
Despite the fact that CloverETL achieved the top place in two different categories, there is still room for improvement in the following areas:
- Basic functionality: with no support for either data lineage or unstructured data they trail behind the major players with a ranking of equal 11th.
- Ease of Use: a not very impressive 9th place in our research, not a problem if you have professional developers but most of the “budget” products are used by companies where there is a distinct shortage of resources and this product is not easy for the business user.
“Given their functionality they deserve a place in our survey”
Rick van der Linden, senior analyst and author of the ETL Tools & Data Integration Survey said about CloverETL: “We have also included up and coming products in the Niche category, these are products that given their functionality deserve a place in our research report but don’t (yet) have enough market share to be seen as a mainstream product. CloverETL is a typical example of this sort of product.” Find out more and order now the ETL Tools & Data Integration Survey 2017.
